1. Who we are

LifeQuest ("we", "us") is an independently operated personal website offering an online self-reflection platform with personality, values, and life-purpose assessments and AI-generated personal reports. For the purposes of EU/UK data protection law, the site operator acts as the data controller. Contact:jiaojiao3215@gmail.com.

2. What data we collect

  • Account data: email address, display name, hashed password (authentication is handled by our provider Supabase; we never see your plain password).
  • Assessment data: your answers to assessment questions, computed scores, result types, and the AI-generated reports derived from them.
  • Payment data: payments are processed entirely by PayPal. We never receive or store your card or bank details. We store order metadata only (order ID, amount, status, payer name and email as provided by PayPal).
  • Usage data: pages visited and basic device information, collected via Google Analytics cookies — only after you accept analytics cookies in our consent banner.

3. AI processing of your answers

To generate your report, your assessment results (scores, result type, and selected derived traits) are sent to a third-party AI language-model provider (currently DeepSeek; we may also use OpenAI, Google, or Anthropic). These providers process the data solely to produce your report content. Do not include information in your answers that you would not want processed for this purpose. We do not knowingly send your email address or payment information to AI providers.

4. Why we process your data (legal bases)

  • Performance of a contract — to create your account, deliver assessment results and purchased reports.
  • Consent — analytics cookies and any optional marketing emails. You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legitimate interests — securing the service, preventing abuse, and keeping records of transactions.
  • Legal obligation — retaining transaction records where required by law.

5. What we do NOT do

  • We do not sell or rent your personal data.
  • We do not use your assessment answers for advertising.
  • We do not make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects. Reports are for self-reflection only.

6. Who we share data with (processors)

  • Supabase — database, authentication, and hosting of account and assessment data.
  • AI providers (DeepSeek; potentially OpenAI, Google, Anthropic) — report generation, as described in §3.
  • PayPal — payment processing.
  • Google Analytics — aggregated traffic analytics, subject to your cookie consent.
  • Vercel — application hosting and infrastructure logs.

7. How long we keep data

Account and assessment data are kept while your account is active. You can delete your account or individual results at any time from your dashboard settings, or by emailing us. Transaction records are kept as long as required by tax and accounting rules (typically up to 10 years). Analytics data is retained per Google Analytics defaults.

8. Your rights

Depending on your location (EU/UK under GDPR, California under CCPA/CPRA, and similar laws elsewhere), you have the right to:

  • Access a copy of your personal data;
  • Correct inaccurate data;
  • Delete your data ("right to be forgotten");
  • Export your data in a portable format;
  • Object to or restrict certain processing;
  • Withdraw consent (e.g. decline analytics cookies) without affecting prior lawful processing;
  • Non-discrimination for exercising your rights (California).

We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA. To exercise any right, email jiaojiao3215@gmail.com — we respond within 30 days. EU/UK residents may also complain to their local data protection authority.

9. Children

LifeQuest is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a minor has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than your own (including the United States, the EU, and Singapore/China for AI processing). Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as EU Standard Contractual Clauses offered by our processors.

11. Cookies

We use a strictly-necessary session cookie to keep you signed in, and set analytics cookies only after you press "Accept" in our consent banner. You can change your choice by clearing the cookie_consent cookie in your browser.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be announced on the site. The date above shows the latest revision.
